Algebra 2:

Homework will be assigned on a daily basis in Algebra 2.  Students are expected to complete homework assignments in pencil and attempt every problem.  Students are encouraged to check their homework prior to the beginning of class each day; some class time will be devoted to reviewing homework assignments where students are encouraged to ask for help on any problems they had questions on.  Homework is a work in progress; mistakes are going to be made, but students need to fix their mistakes and make corrections to their work.  Assignments will be randomly collected and graded based on accuracy and work shown.  Any homework turned in late will be worth half credit as long as the assignment is from our current unit of study

Homework collected and graded based on accuracy will be graded based on the following criteria:

5 pts - Every problem is attempted and student earned a score of 70% or higher when corrected in class

4 pts - Every problem is attempted and student earned a score below 70% when corrected in class

0 - 3 pts - Assignment is incomplete (credit will be determined based on how much of assignment is done); assignment is late

Geometry:

Homework will be assigned on a daily basis in Geometry.  Students are expected to complete homework assignments in pencil and attempt every problem.  Upon completing a homework assignment, students should check their work (this should BEFORE coming to class).  Answers can be found in the textbook (odd exercises) or on Ms. Raupp's webpage (even exercises assigned from the textbook and worksheet answer keys).  Students should check their work in pen (any color other than black ink) and put their total score out of the number of problems assigned at the top of the page by their name.  Students should attempt to re-work incorrect exercises (this should be completed in pen) as learning math is often a process that will not be completed in one step - it's ok to make mistakes, go back and try to fix them!  Some class time will devoted to answering any student questions on assignments the following class period.

Assignments will be graded based on accuracy as well as second-attempts on problems.  I do not expect all exercises to be completed correctly the first time, I am looking for growth!  Students will also be graded on following directions as describe above for checking assignments.
